Recen tly I was visiting a friend. She offered me a cup of coffee. I had to hold the cup coffee in my hand because I didn’t see any coasters – of course I would not sit a drink hot or cold on bare furniture. So as I was planning out my Christmas gifts I decided to make her a set of coasters for a gift.
Materials I used:
- 4 ceramic tiles that measured 4” x 4”. I bought them at the local home goods store. They were $.18 per tile.
- A 4-ounce bottle of Mod Podge.
- A small foam paint brush to apply the Mod Podge.
- (4) 4” round pieces of cork that I had in my craft box.
- Liquid Glue
- Designer Series Paper
My procedure:
- I applied a coat of the Mod Podge onto the ceramic tile and allowed it to dry.
- Then I glued a piece of Designer Series Paper on the tile so that it was covered.
- I used a letter sticker to decorate the covered ile. The letter sticker is the beginning letter of my friend’s last name.
- The I glued a 4” round piece of cork on the back of the covered tile.
- Finally, I applied another 2 coats of the Mod Podge on the top of the tile.
- This procedure was repeated making four coasters
