Santa Gift Card/Money Holder

Looking for something quick to put a gift card, check or money into  for Christmas. MayMay introduced this cute gift card holder that can be made quickly and is really cute. You can give directly, mail, of hang on the tree.

To make cut an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of red cardstock to 4 1/2 by 10 1/2. Turn the red card stock horizontally on scoreboard (long sides on top and bottom), then score at 2 1/2.  Then fold at the score line to create a pocket. Use your adhesive (I used tear & tape so as to not leave any stickiness) to secure sides of the pocket.

Then with trimmer cut a black strip of card stock 3/4 x 4. This will be the belt. The cut a 1 1/2 x1 1/2 square of silver or gold card stock. Cut 2 3/4 inch slits in the small square so that belt could pass through. The weave the black strip in the silver or gold square and adhere to the outside top of the pocket you created.

At the top of your red card stock (opposite of the pocket) trim edges to resemble a tag. Punch hole in middle. You can use ribbon threaded through hole to finish design. If you want to hand from tree you can add twine a hander,

I adhered a to: and from :tag so that mine will be ready to give as needed,
