Benefits of a Sketch in Card Making
If you ever struggled getting creative or coming up with card ideas, let me suggest that you use sketches.
I like to use sketches to design a card for my weekend share on my Facebook Business Page. https://www.facebook.com/Cardsandscrapbookpages/ A card sketch is a rough outline that simply shows what goes where on our next card. They save a lot of time, provide quick inspiration and offer plenty of room for our individual creativity as we are still in complete control of choosing the cardstock and embellishments. I hope that when you’re wondering what your next card could be you would look for a card sketch.
If you have never used a sketch before here are some suggestions.
- Select an easy sketch, the less elements the better it is, as it gives you more possibilities . You can easily find sketches on Pinterest, Google, and YouTube.
- Just pick a few products you want to use.
- You decide if you want to use the sketch as is or if you want change things around
- Start substituting the elements listed on the sketch with the products you selected. This will visually give you an idea of how your card will look.
- Don’t adhere the elements at first, just position them and change them around until you are happy with the visual of your card
- Most of all have fun and remember sketches are an easy way to come up with card ideas.
Here is a card sketch I found for this weekend post.
This sketch is presented by Robin Messenheimer
And here is the card I created.
